Fantastic ending to 2016. Thanks guys, we wish you all the best for this 2017!

If I was asked why are you in a wedding band, this feedback would be the best answer I could give. Being part of someone else's most special day is incredibly satisfying. Normally parties are made of  people, music and food (well... and alcohol!) so when couples trust us to play at their weddings it is a great honour but also a great responsibility.

From here I would like to thank all the couples we partied with during 2016 and previous years. Thanks to you all we have become a much more professional act, we have moved forward, gained new skills and established ourselves within South Wales' Wedding Market.

I would also like to thank all the couples that have booked us for 2017 and 2018. We can't wait to meet you all and be part of your wedding day! Also our most sincere gratitude to all our Corporate clients.

Soul Lotta Funk are a team. We have been going on for a bit more than 3 years now and we still have a long path ahead us. Personally, I am so proud of sharing this adventure with Jamie, Nicky, Joe, Sarah and Django. Thank you for being such a talented buch, it's a pleasure to share stage with you  gig after gig. Also thanks to our soundtechs, deps, families and friends. You all are part of the Soul Lotta Family.

Just before Christmas..... new promo video!

Hi everyone,

This year Santa comes with... A NEW PROMO VIDEO!

This time we have decided to showcase another aspect of the band. A lot of couples ask us to learn a very special song for them and perform it live for their first dance. It is always such a special moment and for us it's a great honour because it means they trust us to cover their most loved song. ''She'' by Elvis Costello, ''Better Together'' by Jack Johnson or ''L.O.V.E.'' by Nat King Cole are some of the first dances we've performed for our couples.

We also offer an Acoustic Package so your guests are entertained with live background music (voice and piano) between the wedding ceremony and the wedding breakfast/dinner. Even during the ceremony!


So that's what we wanted to capture in our new promo and by the looks of it.... we think we have achieved it. The video was filmed and produced by James Fisher from 88 Wedding Films: http://88-films.co.uk


James is such a professional. Everything... approaching him with a bunch of ideas, shaping them, discussing lights, filming, details, feedback.. he takes care of everything and we think that shows up in the video. With his camera he captured magical moments like the one below. We can't wait to show you all!

We would like to express our most sincere gratitude to Simon and Kate from The Belle Adventure (https://www.facebook.com/TheBelleAdventure/). They are an acoustic duo based in Bristol that performs jazz, blues and country music. We have seen them live and they are soooo good!  Back a couple of months when we were planning the video, we were thinking on featuring a couple ... so imagine our surprise when we learnt that they just got married!!! So they came along and they totally owned it. It's not only that both of them are incredibly good looking, it's also that they have charm, charisma, class.. and they are the nicest people you can work with. Thanks guys!

We have had some fantastic gigs since then. So many couples have partied with us in this 2016 and we are looking forward to party with all of you that have booked us for 2017. Can't wait!

09.07.16. Groove on the Grove

Back once more at Groove on the Grove 2016, an annual festival at Aberfan. We were invited last year and it was a blast so expectations were quite high for this year's edition. It didn't dissappoint. Very responsive crowd, good vibes, good sound, amazing acts...

Natalie and Michael's Wedding @ Sugar Loaf Barn 02.07.16

Natalie and Michael booked us for their wedding at the Sugar Loaf Barn (http://sugarloafbarn.com). It was an absolute pleasure to be part of their big day. From here we wish them all the best in their marriage.

Rob and Paulyne's Party @ Caerphilly Castle. 01.07.16

On 01.07.16 we played for Rob and Paulyne at an incredible venue: Caerphilly Castle. What can we say... Incredible gig full of good moments, including Wales' victory. Not everyday one has to cross two moats and a fortified wall to get to a gig!

Cowbridge Food & Drink Festival 2016

This has become an annual date for us. Last year we had a fantastic time playing at the Champagne Tent set up by The Bear Hotel in Cowbridge as part of the Food & Drink Festival. This year we repeated and topped it up. Fantastic night, great crowd and delicious food. Thanks to Esther and Lydia!

Katherine Miller Birthday Party @ Srum V 10.10.15

One of those gigs that we will remember for a long time. Katherine hired us to celebrate her birthday and from the beginning we knew it was going to be a good party.

We enjoyed every step, from meeting with her to ultimate details to playing at Srum V on the day everything was fun!

We will confess a secret though... it can be a bit scary to play in front of the whole BBC National Orchestra of Wales.... but they loved it!

This wedding was really special for us. What a lovely couple and such a fun day! Also was one of the last days of summer. We had an amazing sunset overlooking the sea from the Barn while setting up.

@ Soul Lotta Funk we specialize in soul, funk and party tunes.

However sometimes couples ask us for certain songs that mean a lot to them as they want them performed on their first dance. This was the case of Shaun and Andrea who got married last July and asked us to cover "Your Song" by Elton John.

Back in June 2015 we played a wedding for Steve & Maree.
Such a fun night, floor packed from beginning to end with a final surprise: we got friends of the couple on stage to do a couple of songs! It went down a storm :D
